Seattle University: Organization Systems Renewal Graduate Program (OSR) Annual Conference Leading Sustainably: Transformation through Vital Conversations
This year’s annual conference theme focuses on what it takes to sustain leadership – for ourselves, our organizations, and our communities – during a time of acute challenges, as well as over the longer term, as society changes rapidly and irrevocably. Jenelle will be co-presenting a workshop with Sam Watson during the conference.
The Dance of Relationship: Understanding Transformative Leadership in Unsustainable Times
For leadership to constitute an effective response to un-sustainability, those representing it must undergo radical self-transformation. Current challenges defined by the human footprint in the world demand different ways of knowing and being than those suggested by many current proposals from a western mindset. Existing notions about what constitutes leadership must be challenged and even the notion of leadership itself requires deeper examination.
In this workshop, powerful questions will reveal the limits of current ideas and expose, through facilitated conversation, that for leadership to effectively point towards the promise land of sustainability it must address self-transformation as conscious evolution first.
